Omid Djalili, Hal Cruttenden, John Humphreys and Paul Daniels are just a few of the big names appearing in a hugely eclectic line-up at Epsom Playhouse this autumn.

The town centre theatre has announced its new season of shows, on which comedy features high on the agenda.  There will be visits from Jongleurs on the Road, Roy ‘Chubby’ Brown and Dirty Dusting starring Crissy Rock from ITV’s Benidorm and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, as well as established acts Djalili, who will be performing his new show Iranalamadingdong, and Cruttenden with his Tough Luvvie Tour.

A new show, My Dalek Has a Puncture, will star Simon Fisher-Becker, better known to Sci-Fi fans as Dorium Maldovar from BBC1’s Doctor Who.

If music takes your fancy, visits will be paid to the Playhouse by musicians including Ultimate Elton and the Rocket Band, Bay City Rollers’ front man Les McKeown, Epsom favourites Blake, Albert Lee and Hogan’s Heroes, Joe Brown, Banstead builder-turned-music-maestro Michael Armstrong and The Glenn Miller Orchestra.

‘Psychic’ Sally Morgan will also be back aiming to enthral audiences, 90s television magic favourites Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee are due to pay a visit, as well as LDN Wrestling, ventriloquist Paul Zerdin, CBeebies Andy Day, Moscow Ballet and medium Derek Acorah.

An Evening with John Humphrys, famous for anchoring BBC Radio 4’s flagship Today programme, will provide the audience with the chance to "put questions with no holds barred to the man who makes his living from questioning others", according to the theatre.

The season finale will take place at Christmas with the annual pantomime, this year The Wizard of Oz, starring children’s television presenter Dave Benson Phillips, and for younger children Santa Claus and The Magical Christmas Journey in the Myers Studio Theatre.

Mary Zoeller, the Playhouse's press officer, says: "We are really pleased to be welcoming back some old faces and meeting some new stars making their debut visits to Epsom this season.

"We've tried to include something for everyone so people can look forward to dance, music, children's shows, comedy and much, much more in the run-up to Christmas.

"Talking of which we are really excited that children's entertainer Dave Benson Phillips will be starring in The Wizard of Oz in December.  Look out for him in Epsom next month when he's coming down to launch the panto.

"Just a word of warning though, book early for shows at the Playhouse as many of our productions sell-out and we don't like people to be disappointed."
