Cycling 100 miles around Surrey and London was a walk in the park for one biker - compared to getting his legs waxed the day before.
Simon Watkyns, 40, an inventory clerk and keen cyclist from Ewell, visited Skin Secrets salon in Ewell Village last Friday to endure the painful process.
Mr Watkyns took on the challenge to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, as well as to prepare for the RideLondon to Surrey cycle ride which took place on Saturday.
He said he was persuaded to get his legs waxed by a friend whose daughter was diagnosed with Leukaemia and had treatment for the disease for two years.
Mr Watkyn’s sister also suffered from the disease three years ago and is now in remission.
"I was petrified of getting the wax of course. But it was for a good cause and a very worthwhile charity," he added.
