A man has been charged in connection with several burglaries targeting elderly women in the last fortnight.
On Monday, September 1, a handbag containing a gold wedding ring was stolen from the home of a woman in her 80s.
Three days later, on Thursday, September 4, a man tried to gain access to the home of a woman in her 80s but was confronted by the homeowner and left the scene empty-handed.
Last Tuesday, September 9, a number of medals were stolen from the home of a woman in her 90s.
A Surrey Police spokesman said most of the stolen items have been recovered and will be returned to their rightful owner.
Daniel Bailey Rogers, 22, of no fixed address, was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Guildford Crown Court on Friday, September 26.
