A man has been hit and killed by a train near Carshalton Railway Station, Southern trains has confirmed.
The British Transport Police have confirmed his death is not being treated as suspicious.
Reports were first sent through someone had been struck by the 10.17am Victoria to Epsom service at around 11am today, September 22.
A spokesman for Southern said the person was hit near the railway bridge.
Witness Alison Doherty said: "I heard something and then the train stopped.
"There are police cars and ambulances everywhere. It is terrible."

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “We were called to the line near Carshalton station shortly before 11am on Monday, September 22, after reports a person had been struck by a train.
“Colleagues from the Metropolitan Police Service and London Ambulance Service also attended, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform their family.
“We will prepare a file for the coroner.”
The death caused train delays of up to 25 minutes, but services were running normally from around 12.30pm.
