Six motorists were found to have committed offences during a five-hour police crackdown yesterday.

Officers stopped 37 vehicles in Stafford Road, Wallington, in an operation to seek out drivers without insurance.

One person was arrested for drink driving, another was given a cannabis warning, and one motorist was reported to the DVLA for not having road tax.

Another received a fixed penalty for using a phone while driving.

Officers seized two vehicles that were not insured.

The operation was carried out between 2pm and 7pm, and officers used automatic number plate recognition technology to find uninsured, untaxed, and unregistered vehicles.

Driving without insurance leads to a £200 fine and six points on your licence.
