Much-loved book store Waterstone's could be coming back to Epsom.
Rumours have been circulating around the town that the company, which shut down its branch The Ashley Centre in February 2012 sparking anger and disappointment, will be making a return to the market town - but this time on the High Street.
It is understood that it could be looking at plans to open up in the former Sony and Pizza Hut premises.
The choice of location, if the rumours are correct, would please residents and traders who have repeatedly expressed concerns that footfall falls off sharply at the Upper High Street end of the street.
Waterstone's refused to confirm or deny the rumours today, but said it would keep the Epsom Guardian updated on any developments.
A spokeswoman said: "There is no information I can share with you on that."
