Sutton High Street came to a standstill this morning, as people across the borough paid tribute to those who fell in the First World War.
The public and leading figures of the community gathered at Trinity Square for a brief service, and joined in a two minute silence at 11am to remember those who gave their lives.
The Armistice Day service marked the 96th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
Girls from Sutton High Junior School closed the proceedings with a rendition of the hymn For the Healing of the Nations.
Around 100 people came together at Trinity Square to pay their respects.
