Twitter beef over the suitability of a wreath laid at a war memorial erupted this week.
The Conservative candidate for Carshalton and Wallington, Matthew Maxwell Scott took to the site after spotting a UKIP emblazoned wreath at the Carshalton War Memorial saying it seemed "inappropriate".
Defending the wreath was UKIP candidate Bill Main-Ian said: "After the official ceremony and after the bulk of the crowds dissipated we laid our wreath at the Carshalton Ponds War memorial and later we also laid a wreath at the Sutton Manor Park War memorial.
"Our wreaths were purchased from a florist and arrived with our logo on it.

"All seemed in order. I was as surprised as anyone to receive the tweet from my Conservative opponent Matthew Maxwell-Scott informing me that it was inappropriate.
"I didn’t see why. I still don’t."
He added that after the argument raged on Twitter he said he search for examples of other political parties doing similar things and found examples from both the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives.
He said: "We are not alone in placing a logo in the centre."
