An attacker assaulted a 15-year-old schoolgirl after she got off a bus in High Street Carshalton, Sutton police has said.
The girl, who was still in her uniform at around 4pm on Thursday, November 13, when she was grabbed from behind as she was walking along Lavender Road.
She managed to break free, suffering scratches to her arm.
Her attacker is said to have been a 'very tall' black man, aged between 30 and 40 years old, and of stocky build.
He was wearing a black beanie hat, black clothing and gloves. Reports said he smelled of drink and cigarettes.
Sutton police has asked parents to advise children that if they are approached by a stranger they should: Police are asking parents to advise their children that if they are approached by a stranger they should:
- make as much noise as possible
- run to the nearest place of safety
- report what has happened to police immediately
