A zebra crossing could be built in Shotfield after a resident contacted her local ward member, the chairman of the Housing, Economy and Business Committee on Sutton Council announced this week.
Posting on her blog the Wallington South member, Councillor Jayne McCoy, wrote that notices will be going up as consultation on putting in the formal crossing in the road opposite the Jubilee Health Centre begins.
Coun McCoy wrote on her site Diary of a Sutton Councillor: "Your ward councillors’ work to get a zebra crossing in Shotfield is nearly complete."
She added: "As the request for the crossing was put to us by a number of local residents who found it difficult to cross the road to access the health centre we hope that there will be plenty of support.
Residents will be able to view the notice from November 27 on the council website under reference T30085 and can register their views by emailing: traffic.postbook@sutton.gov.uk.
