A 12-year-old girl is understood to have suffered spinal injuries after falling around 20 to 30 feet from a second floor window, Sutton police has said.
The girl, named locally as "Sarah" fell from the window of a home in Papermill Close in Carshalton.
The air ambulance landed in nearby Grove Park at 2.18pm today.
She was taken to St George's Hospital.
A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: "She's a really good girl.
"She goes to Greenshaw School and I have never seen her out playing on the estate.
"She keeps herself to herself and is quiet.
"She's good at studying and puts a lot of time into it."
