Footballer and jungle dweller Jimmy Bullard passed through Sutton last week to eat some pie and mash and meet local market traders.

The former Premier League midfielder played for Hull City, Fulham, Wigan, and Ipswich Town.

Mr Bullard, who is renowned for his mischievous antics on and off the field, also took part in the 14th series of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, but was the first to be voted off the show.

Mr Bullard was spotted at midday on Thursday, December 11, speaking to market traders after eating some lunch.

Mark Nicholson, who owns a confectionery and egg stall in Sutton High Street, said: “He was a really nice bloke and down to earth.

“Everybody was running over to speak with him. He gave everyone the time of day.”
