Police have launched a fresh appeal for witnesses after a woman was killed in a Boxing Day collision.

The mother, who was in her 30s, was struck down by a BMW as she crossed Middleton Road in Carshalton.

She was hit by the car near where she lived at the junction with Peterborough Road.

Police were called at 8.28pm on Friday, December 26, and the woman was taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting.

She died two days later of an acute subdural haemorrhage.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and has been bailed while detectives from Merton’s Serious Collision Unit investigate the crash.
