An attacker has been given a further jail term for assault, having already been imprisoned for affray after a teenager was knifed on a bus.

Davenand Jaipaul punched a man in the face outside The Money Shop in Mitcham Road, Croydon, leaving him requiring hospital treatment.

Officers attended the scene and arrested Jaipaul after his 40-year-old victim pointed him out in a kebab shop.

The 20-year-old denied the attack despite having a cut on his hand from the punch at roughly 1am on September 2 last year.

He was handed a nine month sentence at Croydon Crown Court on Thursday, February 5, after being found guilty of assault occasioning GBH.

He will serve the sentence in a Young Offender Institution.

Jaipaul, from Tankerton Terrace, Mitcham Road, Croydon was already serving a nine month sentence handed to him on January 9.

The 20-year old was found guilty of affray in an incident where two teenagers were jailed for stabbing a 17-year-old on a bus in London Road, Thornton Heath, on April 27 last year.
