An iPod-wearing jogger who sexually assaulted a woman last week is likely to be the same man who molested a woman in her 50s in December, police have said.

Last Thursday, February 5, a woman was walking along The Kingsway, in Ewell, at 8pm, near the junction with Purberry Close, when she was approached from behind by a man who touched her inappropriately.

FROM FEBRUARY 6, 2015: Police hunting 'iPod wearing jogger' linked to sexual assaults on women

The man is white, with dark brown hair, of slim-to-medium build and around 5ft 6ins tall.

He was wearing a grey hooded top, dark jogging bottoms and an iPod armband.

After assaulting the woman, he ran up The Kingsway, turned right onto Epsom Road and right again in the direction of the Sainsbury’s store on Kiln Lane.

At the time, Surrey Police said it was investigating whether the sex attack was linked to three other similar offences in the area in recent weeks.

Yesterday, a police spokeswoman said they now believe the incident was linked to another incident on December 27.

On that occasion, a woman in her 50s was walking along West Street, near to Epsom station, when she was assaulted.

The spokeswoman said the other incidents which police initially believed may have been connected to these assaults are no longer believed to be by the pervert.

Anyone with information about either incident should call the police on 101, quoting reference 45150010144, or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
