Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s a window cleaner.

The caped-crusader and his sidekick Robin paid a visit to the Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children on Tuesday, to give the windows a shine and wave hello to the patients.

Superman and Spiderman also swung by the site in Carshalton, as a special treat for children being treated inside.

Paediatric matron Nikki Sancroft said: "The little things can make a really big difference when it comes to caring for our younger patients, so it’s lovely to have something as fun as this for them to focus on.

"All of the children have been really excited to meet the superheroes and its raised a real cheer."
