One of Sutton’s movers and shakers will be performing in front of music royalty Saturday night, after making it to the audition stage of BBC show The Voice.

Charlotte Turnbull will be singing in front of stars Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am, Rita Ora, and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson.

The former Stanley Park High student, who has four brothers and three sisters, will be singing the Oliver Heldens track Gecko (Overdrive).

Ms Turnbull, who is on a music performance course at Nescot College in Epsom, said: "I am kind of dreading seeing myself on TV. I don’t know how I am going to look or sound.

"I am most excited about meeting Rita Ora. I am a bit of a super fan at the moment."

The R&B singer's progression in the series is in the hands of the celebrity judges, who will decide whether or not they want her on their team in the coming weeks.

When asked about her chances of winning, she said: "I don’t know, I am just going to see.

"I don’t want to think too far head in case I get let down."

Ms Turnbull, who lives in Clyde Road, Wallington, will appear on The Voice from 7pm on Saturday, February 21.
