I am looking for a cat’s collar that was lost in the Shirley area.

My cat Gingee was hit by a car near the corner of Shrublands Avenue and Broom Road last week.

I was returning from the shops, and she was sat waiting for me outside the doctor’s surgery.

I looked for traffic and saw none so beckoned for her, but as she crossed a grey car like a people carrier shot by and hit her.

I carried her to the kerb where she died in my arms.

Gingee did not have much road sense so it was up to me to say it was safe to cross and it was.

The car was going so fast through a 20mph zone. She was wearing an orange luminous collar with mice on it and a tag with her name Gingee and my phone number and postcode with door number.

I would like this back for sentimental reasons. I am assuming the collar got attached to the car that hit her.

If this is you and you know you hit a cat on the corner of Broom Road, Shirley, Shrublands estate could you look under your car to see if the collar has hooked on it.

I hold no grudges. Gingee was family to me and will be sadly missed by me and myfamily and my other cat Tommy.

Shirley residents please keep a lookout for it. I am willing to offer a small reward.
