A man in his twenties has been taken to hospital as a priority following a crash at the foot of Angel Hill.

Ambulance crews were called to the junction of High St and Oakhill Park Road at 8.40am after reports there had been a collision between a car and a cyclist.

The man was taken to St George's Hospital with face and chest injuries. A police spokesman described the injuries as minor.

Traffic was diverted away from the area.

The driver stopped and no arrest has been made.

Witness Ali Masud, was travelling on the 164 bus into Sutton and was asked to alight due to the crash.

He said: “There was a man lying in the middle of the road, there are two ambulances and a couple of police cars.

"It looks pretty bad because he wasn’t moving.

"I think it was a pedestrian as he wasn’t wearing any high visibility gear.”
