Whyteleafe 3
Burgess Hill 0

Danny Platel scored all three goals as Whyteleafe followed up their mid-week win over Kingstonian with an impressive victory over Burgess Hill.

Both sides tried to play some nice football despite the poor playing service, but neither team managed to break the deadlock before the break.

Leafe started the second half in dominant fashion and finally took a deserved lead in the 48th minute.

Platel diverted Chris O'Flaherty's fierce drive in to put his side in front.

Eight minutes later Platel made it 2-0, controlling the ball inside the box to slot home.

Platel completed his hat-trick when Burgess Hill keeper Andre Foster failed to deal with a Leafe free-kick, leaving the striker to tap into an empty net.

Leafe entertained Leatherhead last night (Tuesday) before visiting Sittingbourne on Saturday.

  • Croydon Athletic's Ryman Division One South fixture against Ashford Town was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The Rams will hope to get back to winning ways when they travel to Dartford on Saturday.
