An 18-year-old has appeared before Kingston magistrates charged with murdering mum-of-two Laila Rezk.
Lloyd James Edwards from Langmoor Point, Norley Vale, Roehampton, was heavily policed when he appeared in the dock this morning.
Mrs Rezk's husband, Maurice, sat in the public gallery and stared impassively at the defendant throughout the hearing.
Edwards, who was arrested on Tuesday, was remanded in custody and is due to appear before the Old Bailey for a plea and directions hearing on March 19.
Mrs Rezk was found unconscious in her Kingston Vale home by her son Tamer, 20, daughter Dina, 22, and her daughter's boyfriend on November 29 last year.
Mrs Rezk's husband Maurice, who was in Egypt on business, flew back to be at her bedside at St George's Hospital in Tooting but she died the following day.
