Croydon FC 1
Whitstable Town 1

The honours were shared in this top-of-the-table clash, which means the Trams are likely to have to settle for second place.

Whitstable took the lead in the 14th minute when James Strouts latched on to a through ball and slid the ball neatly past a helpless Danny Harwood.

It was just the start Croydon did not want, but the Trams stuck to their guns and created some good openings, particularly when Whitstable keeper Rob French denied Ray Freeman on the half hour mark The hosts eventually got back on level terms when Neil John bundled a Billy Warner cross into the net with 12 minutes to go.

The Trams needed to go one better if they were going to be any real threat to the runaway leaders, but it now looks as if they will have to settle for second place at best.
