A new £14,000 "park and stride" scheme has helped cut congestion outside a school.
Ravenscraig Primary in Greenock applied for a grant to upgrade a disused car park. The move allowed for the creation of a drop-off point, reducing the number of people parking on zig-zag lines outside the school gates.
Other improvement work included a new footpath link, lighting upgrade and installation of pedestrian barriers.
Ravenscraig head teacher Isabel Lind said: "Park and stride is a brilliant idea and we are trying to develop its use.
"It encourages everyone to walk, even a little way."
