CANCER victim Jade Goody's husband Jack Tweed apologised to his wife for his criminal past as she lay suffering in hospi-tal, it was revealed today.

Tweed, 21, convicted earlier this week of assaulting a taxi driver and on a night-time curfew after another attack, was given permission to spend Tuesday night with termin-ally-ill Goody, 27, after her emergency surgery.

He said: "I just wish I could be there all the time.

"I told her I'm so sorry for my behaviour. It's meant. I haven't been there for her the whole time.

"I told her I've let every-one down but I've learned my lesson and I said I'm worried that, once again, I won't be there for her and the family when they really need me."

Tweed will be sentenced later this month.
