Men who burgled a care home and a restaurant on the same day have each been jailed.
Stephen Baverstock, 28, and Ben Quilter, 35, forced their way into a care home in Burnell Road, Sutton, at about 3am on January 7, stealing £30 from a handbag, £63 from a shelf, and a charity collection box.
An hour later, they broke into Rasa Sayang restaurant, in Westmead Road, but were heard by the owner, who lives nearby and who called the police. The pair were found hiding nearby.
On Friday, Quilter, of Manor Road, Wallington, and Baverstock, of no fixed abode, were each jailed for a combined 12 months after pleading guilty to both offences.
They were ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £100.
