St George's Day festivities were in full swing in Sutton as crowds flocked to the town centre and the winner of the borough's best breakfast was announced.

Guests at the event included the Mayor of London Boris Johnson who tucked into a piece of St George’s Day Battenberg cake as part of the Successful Sutton organised food fair.

As part of the day, Sutton's best breakfast was announced by chef Ed Baines after more than 2,000 votes were cast. Peckish Cafe of Manor Place in Sutton came out on top.

Mr Baines, who also chatted to stallholders and signed copies of his book, said: "I am very, very honoured to be here today to announce this result. "Breakfast is certainly something in Britain that we do really well. It is something world renowned."
