Croydon-based korfball side Trojans are celebrating after retaining their National England League title.
Led by Dave Brooks with five goals, Trojans beat Bec from Tooting 14-10 in Sunday’s final at the Whitgift School sports centre.
Brooks was supported by Tony Woodvine with four and Matt Brooks with three goals.
Having beaten KV of Kent 22-11 in the semi-final, Trojans beat Bec in a repeat of last season’s final, which Trojans won 18-17.
Bec, for who Blake Palfreyman scored four goals, and Claire Dique and Joe Bedford scoring twice each, beat Kingfisher 26-15 in their semi-finnal.
At the same event, Croydon were promoted back to the England Korfball League after a one-year absence.
They finished second in a five-team group over the weekend which was enough to seal promotion.
