Staff were tied up and held at gunpoint when masked robbers entered a supermarket on Stonecot Hill.

The two staff at the Co-op were confronted by three men, one armed with a handgun on Monday, at about 6.45am and forced to open the store safe before being bound with cable ties.

The three men fled with the cash from the safe.

Both members of staff were noticeably shocked and required medical attention.

Detective Constable Paddy O’Connor of the Met’s Flying Squad, said. "This was a terrifying ordeal for the two victims. We are appealing to the public to help us find these men.

"In particular we would like anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery and may have seen the men leaving the scene on foot, or in a vehicle, to contact us."

Detectives are appealing for anyone with any information related to the crime should contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
