A sweet shop has started selling charity lollipops named after Ollie - a brave little boy battling cancer.

Hatty’s Sweet Shop in the Ashley Centre, Epsom, launched Ollie’s Lollies with facepainting, lucky dips and a colouring competition on Saturday.

The sweets are being sold in aid of children's cancer charity Momentum which has helped Ollie Lovis, 4, and his family from Ewell. Ollie had been expected to attend the event but was too ill on the day to come along.

Momentum's director Bianca Effemey said: "The Lovis family are a huge inspiration to us all. The proceeds from the fundraising day and Ollie’s Lollies will help us to support even more Epsom families."

Ollie was diagnosed with cancer at the base of his skull in 2013 and went to America for proton therapy but he relapsed in December and the cancer has spread to his spine, legs and hip.

His mother Terri Lovis said: "Ollie has spent so much time at Epsom Hospital and the care that he has received there has been fantastic. But we were also fortunate enough to come across this amazing charity called Momentum.

"They have been there for us throughout Ollie’s treatment and continue to support us now. It would be great to be able to give back something."

Momentum has been fundraising to create a new playroom and parents’ room at Epsom Hospital.
