A video of a mother and daughter singing at home to raise awareness about diabetes has gone viral online.

Georgia Hall, 34, and her daughter Ronnie Hall, 15, from Parkview Way, Epsom, created the video because her other child Lenny, 11, has Type 1 diabetes.

Their cover of Emeli Sande’s hit Read All About It has been viewed nearly 100,000 times and more than £300 has been donated to charity Diabetes UK.

Of the overwhelming response, Mrs Hall said: "I laugh. I’m quite a shy person and I wouldn’t get up on a stage and sing. It’s unbelievable. We both sing all the time."

Her son Lenny has an insulin pump which is attached to his body and delivers a steady flow of insulin to control his diabetes around the clock.

She said: "We said ‘we are doing this for you and to see if we can help to raise money for Diabetes UK'.

"Even though he has had it for quite a while, he still finds it hard to deal with. That’s why we wanted to do something positive."

Patricia Howell, regional fundraiser for Diabetes UK South East says: "Diabetes is one of the biggest health challenges facing the UK today so we are very grateful for the singing fundraising efforts of Ronnie and her mum Georgia.

"They will not only raise awareness of this serious life-long condition but also the money raised will help improve the care and support available for people affected by the condition.
