Team Richmond had an outstanding performance at the London Youth Games Thames Water Regatta at the weekend, taking home the three team gold medals from the London Watersports Centre.
The 29-strong year 7-11 team claimed overall gold in the rowing, canoe slalom and canoe sprint events with a haul of 11 medals, including individual discipline golds.
Richmond’s heroics put them top of the London Youth Games Jubilee Trophy standings with the sailing regatta – on June 20 – and main finals day at Crystal Palace still to come.
Councillor Meena Bond, Richmond council cabinet member for sports, said: “Once again these talented young people have represented our borough and really shown the rest of London how talented they are.”
