A reckless driver has been sentenced to two years in a young offender institution after dangerously driving his car as he tried to shake off a police car.
Aaron Draisey, 20, of Mollison Drive, Wallington, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving at Croydon Crown Court where he was later sentenced on June 1.
On January 16, last year, a police patrol saw a Ford Galaxy speeding along Grandstand Road, in Epsom.
Draisey then drove at 70mph down 30mph roads towards Ewell Village and overtook three vehicles on the wrong side of the road as police gave chase.
In Ewell Village he continued to drive the wrong way up a one-way street before hitting another police vehicle before it stopped. He fled on foot but was apprehended and arrested.
