An angry young prisoner set fire to bedding and a mattress in a prison segregation block yesterday.
The 19-year-old man suffered smoke inhalation in his cell at High Down prison on the outskirts of Banstead at about 5pm.
It is the latest in a series of fires at the prison.

Prison workers and two fire crews used a hose reel to tackle the blaze and the inmate was treated by prison medical staff.
Watch commander Russell Giles, from Banstead fire station, said: "It was obviously deliberate, probably started using smoking materials. It was a very angry young man."
Yesterday: Staff shortages, use of force and other serious concerns at High Down must be addressed, says Chief Inspector of Prisons
