The manager of the Sutton female squash team that won Balfour Beatty London Youth Games gold last weekend has hailed the team effort.
It is the fourth consecutive title for the side who beat Kingston in the final at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
There was also gold for the badminton team, and a bronze for the male squash team.
Squash manager Pete Smith said: “They did really well, it was a good team effort and their fourth title in a row so it meant a lot to them.
“Being reigning champions does put a little bit of pressure on, but we enjoy it and the girls are always up for it.
“The semi-final was probably the hardest game, but we played really well and won that 2-1.
“The final was well contested as well but we managed to win 3-0. They put a lot of effort in and deserved the win.”
He added: “The girls really enjoy coming to the London Youth Games, they really look forward to coming and enjoy competing.
“I like seeing these girls develop and the London Youth Games is a good competition for them to play in. They will all be back next year.”
The weekend capped off a solid season for the borough where they also won female judo gold and male ParaGames swimming bronze.
