Unbeaten Surbiton Ladies have refused to rest on their laurels by signing Scotland international Robyn Collins.

The 22-year-old, capped eight times by her country, will return to Sugden Road after spells at Clydesdale Western, Loughborough Students and WHL Premier League Beeston, where she played last season.

Collins was part of the Great Britain U21 squad which brought back bronze from the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney in 2013.

Surbiton lifted the WHL Premier League championship crown and the Women’s Cup last season without losing a game.

And head coach Brett Garrard is keen to see his team challenge in European competition as well this time around.

“Robyn’s international experience with Scotland and her experience of playing in the top flight of English hockey will help us to defend our domestic league and cup titles for a second successive season, and mount a challenge in Europe,” he said.

Collins added: “Having first learnt how to play at Surbiton as a youngster I am delighted to be joining the club. I’m looking forward to joining the team for pre-season and the season ahead.”
