Mark Gale, owner of Doggy Boutique in St Helier Avenue, said he thought the stabbing happened at about 2pm in Moreton Green, a five-hectare park in Ravensbury ward.
Blood reportedly found on a stretch of St Helier Avenue around the corner from the park led police to tape off the pavement and send sniffer dogs down it.
Mr Gale said police taped off a stretch of the pavement from the junction of Bristol Road to the junction of Boxley Road for about three hours on Saturday afternoon.
Met Police has yet to comment.
