Firefighters evacuated 28 people from a block of flats on Harcourt Road in Wallington after a fire started in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The fire started in a flat kitchen and one woman was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service where she was treated for smoke inhalation.
21 firefighters from four fire engines from Addington, Mitcham and Sutton attended the blaze.
The brigade was called at 12.36am and the fire was brought under control by 1.48am.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
