A Wallington man was assaulted in his own home when two men pretending to deliver a parcel forced their way inside.

Two men wearing orange high-visibility jackets knocked on the door of a Woodcote Road home last Tuesday morning and claimed they had a parcel, police said this afternoon.

The men forced their way in and assaulted the man, then searched the upstairs bedrooms before escaping without taking anything.

The home owner, who was later taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, managed to contact a neighbour, who called police at 8.56am.

Police said the motive behind the attack was unclear. The assailants were described as black. No arrests have been made.
