A spectacular double rainbow landed in Sutton back gardens yesterday after a day of mixed weather.
Late-afternoon showers resulted in the striking beams seen here, which stretched across part of the borough. Central London can be seen in the distance.
In contrast to recent days the Met Office said there was less than a 5 per cent chance of rain today, though skies would be mostly cloudy after 10am.
Heavy rainfall last week saw streets turn to rivers and in neighbouring Croydon serious flooding was reported.
