Residents can buy a gift for the 200 children in care in Sutton this Christmas.
Sutton Police are taking part in the Met Police Christmas Tree appeal, which invites residents to buy gifts for children that may not otherwise receive one.
Tags representing each child in care will be available at the station carrying a message for residents to register with a website.
They will then receive an email with the child’s age and sex.
Once presents have been purchased they can be handed into the station unwrapped.
The presents will be handed out at a children's Christmas party in December.
Sergeant Simon Alexander said: "This is all about residents rallying around to help children in care who can find this season difficult."
A total of 88 pledges for presents have been given to the station so far.
People can also pledge to buy at present at www.met.police.uk/christmastree/sutton
