A Wallington cyclist is set to take on Central America's hills and heat for a Sutton hospice.
Joe Ryan, 64, will peddle 280 miles across Costa Rica in five days to raise money for St Raphael's Hospice, starting this Saturday.
This will be the accountant's eighteenth consecutive charity fund raising event and is the eighth time he will have travelled abroad to raise money for the hospice.
On his Just Giving page Mr Ryan said: "St Raphael's provides tender, loving care to those on the last leg of their journey on earth, and ensures that they are free of pain in the process.
"Not only do they prepare their patients for a calm and peaceful progression to the next life but they also provide loving counsel to their relatives - and often it is the relatives who gain the most benefit."
So far Mr Ryan has raised £2,115 of his £7,500 target. To donate visit the link here.
