A middle-aged man who got his leg stuck in roadside railings in Cheam had to be rescued by firefighters on Wednesday night.
Fire crews from Epsom were called to Wonersh Way, Cheam at 8.40pm on Wednesday to find a man trapped between two railings.
A Surrey Fire and Rescue spokesman said the man’s knee was wedged between the bars and he was bent over the top bar.
He said: “The man managed to get his leg between two of the railings and we used hydraulic equipment to prise the bars apart.
“We then left him in the hands of the ambulance service.
“He was in a bit of pain because his leg was bent in a funny way.”
