Police are hunting a man who attacked a dad at a children's football match with a set of keys.

The 35-year-old victim had been watching his son in an under-16s boys' game between Croygas and Kew Association and punched in the back of the head by another man as the players left the pitch.

The attacker used a set of keys as a weapon in the assault, which happened at Croygas Sports Club in Mollison Drive, Wallington, at about 1pm on Sunday, May 8.

The victim, whose son plays for Kew Association, suffered cuts to his head but did not need hospital treatment.

The attacker is thought to be known to some of those taking part in the match but police have so far been unable to establish his identity.

Officers this morning released a CCTV image of a man wanted in connection to the assault.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sutton police station on 101, quoting reference number 4005109/16, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
