A person was taken to hospital after a car overturned in a crash in Wallington.

The blue hatchback remained on a grass verge today after it flipped at about 4pm yesterday in Woodmansterne Lane.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) said a patient was treated at the scene for minor injuries before they were taken to a south London hospital for treatment.

An LAS spokeswoman said: “We were called at 4.06pm on Tuesday, 6 December, to reports of a road traffic collision at Woodmansterne Lane, Wallington.

“We treated a patient at the scene for minor injuries and took them to a hospital in south London.”

A London Fire Brigade spokeswoman said: “We were called at 4.30 and the incident was over for us at 4.52. We were called to reports of fuel on the road following a road traffic collision.”

A witness said the car remained on the roadside at 9.30am today.

Colin Hillman, 47, said: “I drove past last night and saw the car had overturned and was laying on the grass verge, but I couldn’t see if anyone was inside it.

“There was an ambulance and the fire brigade were there.

“Again I drove past this morning and the car was still there, on the grass verge, on its roof with tape around it.”
