Three brothels were raided by police in Lewisham and two people were arrested on Saturday night.

Officers from Lewisham borough visited three brothels, at least one of which is on Sydenham Road, as part of their borough-wide swoop.

Five prostitutes found in the second of the brothels to be raided were handed warnings, as was the landlord, police have said.

A man and a woman were both arrested for immigration offences in the third and final raid, according to Evelyn and New Cross police’s Twitter.

Their post reads: "Number two had five working girls. The maid was identified and issued a warning, the landlord was found and also formally warned.

"[In] number three there was a female and male arrested for immigration offences. Male also arrested for managing a brothel."

The Met Police has been contacted for more details on the raids.
