A road was closed following a crash in South Norwood while emergency services recover the car involved this morning

Portland Road, at the junction with Manor Road, was closed in both directions and traffic is moving slowly on South Norwood High Street.

Paramedics and police were called at about 11.15am to the incident, and arrived to find a car had collided with railings.

A London Ambulance Service (LAS) spokeswoman said two people were checked over by paramedics following the incident but they were not taken to hospital.

The 130 bus was on diversion after this morning’s crash near the railway bridge.

The road has now been reopened, a spokesman for TfL has confirmed.

An LAS spokeswoman said: “We were called at 11.16am today to reports of a road traffic collision at Manor Road, South Norwood.

“We sent a single responder in a car and an ambulance crew to the scene. The first of our medics arrived at the scene in under six minutes.

“We checked over two patients at the scene but did not take them to hospital."
