Paramedics have treated a cyclist following a collision with a car outside Barnard Marcus Estate Agents in Brighton Road.

The man was taken to hospital with minor injuries after the crash, which happened at about 8.50am today (March 16).

Brighton Road was closed shortly afterwards while emergency crews and police worked at the scene.

It was reopened at 9.35am.

A witness told the Sutton Guardian: “A customer told me what happened so I went outside to look. Paramedics arrived within three minutes who gave him treatment, I was surprised by how fast they got there.

When asked whether he thought the road was safe the witness added: “It’s something that seems to happen all over London. I would not say it’s anything particular to this road.”

A 91-year-old woman died after she was hit near a pedestrian crossing in the same road in April, last year.
