Nine new arrivals helped make Mother’s Day extra special for parents from south London and Surrey.

Three tiny tots were born at St Helier Hospital and six at the Epsom site on Mothering Sunday midwives revealed on Friday, March 31.

As well as being given the best present of all in the form of their bundles of joy each proud mum was given a soft toy and a congratulations card from the maternity team.

Mothers in the neonatal unit at St Helier Hospital, which provides emergency care for new born and premature babies, were presented with a special card.

Tina Woodford, consultant midwife at Epsom and St Helier, said: “Mothers are special all year round, but Mother’s Day is the chance to do that extra something to show mums just how wonderful, and appreciated, they are.

“Mothering Sunday was particularly memorable for some women this year as they welcomed their new arrivals on the day itself! As a team we were keen to mark this double celebration, which is why we decided to get the gifts and card. Congratulations again to all our wonderful mothers.”
