A university with an Epsom campus has shot up in to the top 25 of all UK universities, a national newspaper’s new ranking reveals.

The University for the Creative Arts (UCA), which has a campus in Ashley Road, was ranked 21st in the Guardian University Guide 2018 released this week.

Rising 18 places in the Guardian’s overall ranking since last year, UCA was also named the country’s top specialist university for creative industries – a ranking it also achieved in the Complete University Guide 2018 , which was released last month.

Acting Vice-Chancellor Alan Cooke, said it was an “incredible achievement” and praised staff at the university.

He added: “We are incredibly proud that UCA has not only been identified as one of the top universities for a creative degree, but as one of the best places in the country to study the creative industries.”

Professor Roni Brown, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Development, added: “It is extremely exciting to see our university continually recognised as providing education of the highest quality, acknowledging the outstanding talent and commitment of our staff and students.

“We are delighted to see our courses ranked so highly in the subject listings, and our Architecture, Fashion & Textiles, and Film Production & Photography courses named in the top 10 in the Guide’s subject listings.”
