A new cut-price supermarket will open in Bexleyheath next month.
Lidl will open a new 2,865 square metre store in the Broadway opposite the Marriot Hotel on June 29, a spokeswoman confirmed.
On the 5,639 square metre site there will 140 car parking spaces and 42 cycle stands.
Bexley Council approved the German supermarket conglomerate’s plans in May of last year.
On Bexleyheath Business Improvement District’s Facebook page, Nikki Collier wrote: “Just what I was saying this place is missing!”
Luke Roberts added: “This was worth coming home for!”
Meanwhile, Katie Watts had mixed feelings about the development. “Can’t bloody wait, although prefer Aldi,” she wrote.
